Installation

Installing a set

Four corners, a primer, two sets of adhesives, and about ten unhurried minutes.

Which guide do I need?

The process is the same for both lines with one real difference: ICONS are sculpted and directional, so orientation matters in a way it does not on an Original.

  • Originals — four machined domes. No way up to get wrong, but still a correct position.
  • Icons — Skull, Buddha, Matrix, Dragon and Studs & Stones. Each piece has a face, and that face has an orientation.

Both guides cover what is in the box, surface preparation, priming, seating, the 24-hour cure, what to do if a corner sits wrong, and how to re-apply with the second adhesive set.

The three things that matter

Almost every problem people have with an adhesive-mounted product is an application problem rather than a product problem, and all three causes are free to avoid.

  1. Clean, dry corners. Skin oil is what stops an adhesive bonding. Use the alcohol pad, let it dry, and do not touch the cleaned areas again.
  2. Thirty seconds of firm pressure, piece to phone, pressed straight in rather than twisted.
  3. Twenty-four hours before normal use. The adhesive reaches full strength over a day, not instantly.

Before you start

  • Work on a clean, flat, well-lit surface — the set ships on protective paper you can lay everything out on.
  • Take any existing case off. Corners4 bond to a bare iPhone.
  • Keep the second set of adhesives somewhere you will not lose it.
  • Do not rush the alignment. The adhesive is strong.
